Role Purpose:

To drive the growth of account billings and gross profit from both existing and new clients through new business development and the maintenance and expansion of existing client relationships.

To manage and coordinate the performance of each account whilst ensuring successful delivery of client projects to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities/Tasks:

  • Revenue: Responsible for growing revenue and driving business growth through billings and gross profit performance across a portfolio of client accounts
  • Budgeting: Create, forecast and manage projected versus actual fiscal performance of all respective accounts in co-operation with the Business Director. Own overall account finances and work alongside Producer who will manage day to day campaign P&L
  • Reporting: Report to the Head of Client Services and senior management team on all performance measures; and account strategy and operational business plans as needed (including activity forecasts)
  • Sales: Identify sales opportunities, develop and manage client proposals and liaison as and where appropriate. Drive sales from existing clients. Responsible for new business development in conjunction with the Head of Client Services.
  • Responsible for promoting, developing and extending the business on a set group of accounts
  • Conceptualise, implement, and execute tailored strategies across key accounts – in accordance and alignment with the overall Business Strategy
  • Build robust relationships with clients and to advise on matters relating to the clients’ marketing, advertising, and promotion in a credible and professional manner.
  • Become embedded in the clients’ business, working as a strategic partner, trusted advisor, and operating as an extension of their team
  • Build and sustain strong and long-lasting relationships with client-side senior managers and maintain frequent contact with other 3rd party agencies
  • Be pivotal in helping our clients exceed their business objectives through use of customer intelligence, multi-channel best practice, expertise and initiative
  • Work closely with the clients’ financial/commercial/procurement teams, ensuring the payment process runs efficiently and promptly, securing the correct cost sign-off authority
  • Plan, develop, and defend budget recommendations, work goals, measurements and training requirements necessary to provide both quality and profitable service to clients
  • Team Management: recruit, manage, mentor and supervise the Account Management members within the client services team

Required Skills, Education and Experience:

  • Previous client services experience as an Account Director, Client Director or equivalent position within a digital agency, creative/content agency or marketing agency
  • Excellent commercial acumen including financial and budgetary skills as well as previous experience of income accountability
  • A proven track record of developing and successfully growing a variety of large client accounts (£500k+ revenue)
  • Ability to identify and develop new commercial opportunities – existing account uplift and net new revenue
  • Demonstrable ability to deliver against targets and be metric driven.
  • Comfortable building and managing strategic client relationships across organisations and multiple stakeholders operating at a senior level
  • Strong relationship and rapport building skills with clients at all levels – demonstrable ability to nurture and grow existing relationships and form new ones
  • Experience of dealing with cross-functional teams internally and externally to deliver solutions for large, complex client business requirements
  • Experience in working with client marketing departments
  • Previous experience of managing direct reports, motivating client services staff and acting as the primary leadership role for set key accounts
  • Excellent communicator and leader.
  • Good presentation skills – ability to present across all seniority levels of the clients business
  • DRTV and TTL experience desirable
